Sig p365 front sight.
Howdy, All: Got my first Sig, a 365XL with Romeo Zero. Went to range, trying to figure out the sight picture with the red dot off (or if battery dead). Lining up rear notch on Romeo where I can see front sight post shoots about 6-8" high....are we just supposed to use the rear notch...that wouldn't make a lot of sense.

The x-ray sight is barely bright enough, or almost bright enough, depending on whether it's a glass half full, or glass half empty kind of day. This in an Ameriglo on a P320. The sight is nice and bright during the day. The center is normal tritium. I've got a TLR7.In the #8 vs #6 sights (frt and/or rear) discussion, biggest question is sight picture as Andy105 posted. Sig P365 uses #6 (frt) #8 rear based on the combat hold to get POA = POI (which is the bullseye center covered by the frt sight dot). If you use center hold as I do, #6/#8 sights will result in POI 1 - 2 inches low depending on distance.

CMA. 196 posts · Joined 2018. #7 · Mar 29, 2019. The exact same thing happened to the first Night Fision sight I put on my P365. It happen with only 200 rounds on it. The second sight NF sent went dead after two trips to the range. I have #3 on right now. I just shot 50 rounds and all in OK.
Get dead on accurate at say 3 yards. Get the group of hits dead center up, down, left, right. Whatever sight hold you need to get there, do it. Then, go to 5 yards, and repeat. Adjust your point of aim to hit dead center again, even if it means covering the center spot on the target.
