I believe it was an issue because the poison damage is capped so you're losing damage in the long run. But it's been a long time since they made the change and I can't remember. You can probably get away with using your fat man and frozen banshee or other A1 poisoners (aox, steel skull, ect) but ideally want someone with a quad poison to mow down the waves quickly with less set up.
