I remember listening to a podcast years ago about how the police chief of New York managed to help lower crime numbers with predictive logarithms in the 70s or 80s? And it worked really well. Then too well, because crime was lower they had to then start arresting people for minor infractions to keep their numbers, keep funding, and keep personnel.
