The Gyrm Axe is both the slowest and hardest hitting. The Bandit Axe has no reach and is good in spite of this. I don't care for the moveset of most of the hammers but they're all fine. My personal favorite is the Craftsman's Hammer and it has easily the best moveset in the class. The only strength spear is the Gargoyle Bident.

The greatsword is probably the best pure str weapon out there, if you can stand the delayed attacks. Even works well in PvP if you can delay your r1s or trick people into thinking you have less stamina than you do. Its not big and heavy, but the gargoyle bident should be mentioned.
