So I had prodromal labor for nearly 3 weeks this past pregnancy (gave birth about 8 weeks ago), starting at around 36+4. I was having actual contractions as well, and did dilate to 2 cm, but basically continued having on and off contractions without much dilation progress till the real deal.40+2 weeks second baby, started my stretch and sweeps and 38 weeks, had my third done on my due date 22.01 I am 2cm and Other than a few twinges here and there and loosing my mucus plug in about 100 pieces nothing, I am booked. Here's my background: I was 2 cm for about 2 weeks until the day my son was born. (I had an appt that morning). Contractions with my son came out of nowhere that night, 5 minutes apart to start. That lasted 40 minutes then they were 1 minute apart. I dilated from 4 to fully dilated in an hour. The whole labor was 3.5 hours.

Remember statistically most babies are born 4 days after die date. It's so freaking hard but be patient I wouldn't expect to be dilated at all at 38 weeks.
