To be honest, for the fastest runs, I would recommend a bird deck with a bird totem. Also, aim to reach ALL campfires and boost as many cards as possible, but not more than 4-6. Having more boosted cards are better than going above this amount. Sacrifice a Ringworm to the first Campfire and boost your cards. Skull storm is a rightfully tough challenge, so I understand your pain.My go-to deck always for this challenge is the Black Goat deck as you said, purely because of the fair-hand mechanic.
