What with the randomly made parts, the Tinker blackboxing, and the lack of proper reproducibility. Like, in most Tinker of Fiction stories it reads like a Celestial Forge fic, where the MC has all the knowledge needed to make something, but it is real tech. Maybe it has some magic or something involved, but it is reproducible and understandable.
