Had the surface pro 3 since release and till now it's working. 1.Original developed lines of dead pixels. 2.First replacement had charging port issues. 3.Second replacement developed a bright spot. 4.And now the third replacement has lines at the bottom.

In blue screen view the bug check string rotates between kmode_exception_not_handled, system_service_exception, memory_management, and sometimes it's blank. In the bottom window it's always ntoskrnl.exe highlighted in red, no matter the string.

The same blue screen happened to me and it ended up being a .sys file from a Blu-ray player software I installed two years ago and didn’t use since then. I just renamed the file in question and the problem was solved. The kmode blue screen is very generic so in your case if will be a completely different file, but the solution may be the same.
