Gmc acadia shift to park fix.
When done with the repair and drove- it shifted the same. Still took 3 seconds to engage Drive from park. I drove for a few days- which involved some cold engine starts. About 80 miles later- the trans began to shift properly. Almost like it took that mileage and the cold engine starts- to relearn the shifts.

I haven't taken it in yet because I know they won't find anything wrong. I've tried all kinds of things to remedy to no avail.The dash said "shift to park" lol. Push the shifter forward into park, message went away. Exactly as it should. Test two, tried to move the shifter out of park without pushing the button. Result, nope, you have to both push the brake and depress the button just like you had to do before.My 2019 GMC Acadia started having the known "shift to park" issue that is affecting these make/models. This is a known issue and GMC has not issued a recall for it, nor are they covering any cost of repair. When the car is put into park, the screen displays a message that says "shift to park". This results in being unable to turn the car off.Have been advised that GM now recognizes the problem to be with the micro switch used in the shifter to indicated that it is in fact in Park. I have a 2017 Acadia, purchased new July 2017. 21k miles on it now. The shift to park message just started 3 weeks ago (November 2018 ) and learned more by reading this forum. Before reading this forum, I did notice on my Acadia that the P on the center console and the P on the dash both indicate "P", but the message on the screen still appeared.
