Hey guys, noob with a problem. Just finished building a FAL (DSA SA-58 except for an inch bolt). Shooting handloads - 147gr. FMJ's ahead of 45.0gr. Hodgdon H335 (should be somewhere around 2800 fps). The rifle shoots acceptably accurate but it will not extract and eject the empties - even with the regulator turned down to "1".

If the bolt goes fully into battery, try a larger pin gage. If the bolt wont go into battery, try a smaller pin gage.

Surplus military kits built on upper receivers of good quality are the next best route to go for a great FAL. Parts kits can still be found for $500-$700 and up depending on make and quality.
