I’ve always used my own Wi-Fi router and enable bridge mode on Comcast devices. Very easy to do and no problems. It’s a typical scenario for the more advanced users. Just wanted to share that I experienced constant dropouts and connectivity issues with the XB7 and had to request a replacement. Had nothing to do with using in bridge mode.
Your Xfinity gateway is not in bridge mode if you are getting a 10.0.0.x address on your Verizon router. Your gateway is still running a dhcp server.
