M4 vs 1301.

The 1301 (any variant) is the more practical shotgun IMO/E, but for the same $, the M4 is a steal. I have both. I don't have as much time behind the 1301 as the M4 but so far both have been reliable for me. I'm tempted to say the M4 might have the edge over the 1301 since it's been well regarded by military users. The 1301 and is lighter but feels more like a plastic gun. Both excellent guns, but the 1301 just feels better in my hands, if you can, try shooting both & see what feels better to you, with shotguns personal preference seems to vary alot. The 1301 seems faster. M4 feels tougher. If I could only keep one I would keep the m4. Being lighter isn't totally an advantage either. It kicks more, making it less smooth for quick following shots. So, IMHO (if it's worth anything), 1301 is a great shotgun for HD with an excellent value, but it is still not at the same level with M4. M4 is definitely superior, if we ignore the price difference. 4.

The biggest differences are that the Beretta 1301 is lighter, Benelli M4 has a pistol grip option, and the systems used to cycle the action. Both systems are reliable and will shoot just about any shell you throw at it, though from what I’ve seen the the M4 may struggle with lighter loads…. Have not heard this issue the the 1301.

Buy a 1301 and a M4 clone and you’re still under the price of a M4. I have a M4 clone that’s been flawless with everything I’ve fed it.
