You can get a bandit diversity mod that adds more hivers to the different bandit groups, try knocking them out from trade caravans with a stealth character, go to the up and try your luck at the slave marts, or you can find some littered throughout kenshi's many bars. Exiled Princes don't lives in hive villages, because they're not really liked by the others hivemen. The shopkeeper usally say "Hiveless bring madness". So it's actually ok that you don't start in a Hive Village.
