Do this until you can get about 1/32" or so started into the dovetail. Installing the new sight is easier.It is more than just a tool, you need a specially machined guide rod for it. It is much simpler just to use the paperclip tool. As far as I can tell, it would be impossible to strip a 4" Kimber without a tool of some sort, due to the way the guide rod & spring are set up.
