If you stuck on the island then u use a mixed bag of tools to get there. 1) tops of mountains. 2) dunks can harvest lots of obsidian from bottom of ocean areas, probably more obsidian down there than above ground. 3) the grinder is your best friend. Save all the crap loot from drops and grind it up when you are about to make stuff.
