I had an xl. Purchased both the macro and an extra p365 grip module to experiment a bit. I tried the macro slide and xl slide on the xl grip, and was very impressed with the macro's reduced recoil. I could definitely feel it. Next I tried both slides on the new p365 grip module. I was very happy with the macro on the p365 grip.
Also the new Sig 365 Macro 17rd magazine is supposed to fit any 365! The modularity of grip modules is a good reason as well. Highly recommend Wilson Combat ... Tacops for these very reasons: $50 cheaper than the comp, and you get 4 mags as opposed to 2 (essentially getting another $120 discount since these mags are $60 a pop). The only way to get a Sig P365 X-macro with an XL slide is to buy two different pistols and swap the slides. The marketing department at Sig has triumphed over the engineering department. The slimmer slide, higher grip position (lower bore axis), two extra rounds versus my P320 X Compact, and lighter weight makes all the difference for me when CCing the XMacro grip and P365XL slide combo. I carry IWB at 4-5 o'clock and there is a noticeable difference in how this setup feels and carries for me versus either of my P320s.
