Nov 18, 2012 · it's not the hood light. Any aftermarket equipment (roof lights, cb)is hooked up to power going through the above pulled fuses and would have dropped the current draw when pulled. You could put a transducer on the end of the steering column shaft. That transducer will convert the movements of the steering wheel into an electrical signal you can run wires to a rack that came from a car that had drive by wire. Systems like this are used by oems.

After the normal "drain time", put the negative terminal back on and see if it starts. If it doesn't, then you have a bad battery, even though you said it's new. Liquid levels out which is why transmission level goes down and transfer case level goes up. If you're transmission doesn't have a vent it vents through the transfer case. If you add a seal to the output shaft it can't vent. If your transmission has a vent its a good indication that the output shaft requires a seal.

Your easiest solution at this point is to cut away the offending area on the skid plate with torches, sawzall, cutting wheel, etc. around where the transfer case is contacting the skid plate. Your dash-mounted headlight switch will have to go, if you want to use the column-mounted switch. 5. Doing a bunch of reading of FSM on our XJ's, if you look at wiring diagrams and test procedures you will find that the "extended idle" function does this: Flip the switch on the dash, this connects between vechicle ground and pin A12 of the ECU wiring harness. When the ECU sees the signal switched ... it's the last step to fixing a steering issue. Check tie rod ends first, on both the tie rod and drag link. Since your XJ is a 2001, it won't have plug wires or a distributor but instead has a coil pack ignition. As far as the E3 plugs or other fancy ones, thats your own decision.
