Marika might have abandoned her body too. At the end, when we enter the Erdtree to claim the Elden Ring, we only see Marika's crucified body which then slowly turns into Radagon. Originally, when I finished the game, I thought " oh maybe Elden beast killed Marika's soul as punishment and now Radagon is the only one remaining in that body".
