Once you could talk to the mage next to the Shatt portal but they now send you through to Hellfire Peninsula and you cannot now walk back through the portal to Blasted Lands, you can only take the port back to Orgrimmar.

If you go to Blasted Lands, and you are in the right time, the quest or Lord Banehollow will show up at that little altar sw of the Altar of Storms and West of Dreadmaul Post.
