The compression ratio rating is 6.0:1.The difference is in the intake & exh. manifold. The 400 didn't pre-heat the intake mixture as much as the old M series did and that allowed an extra HP or two. The A-140 takes 5/8 carriage for the weights. So if you put the A-140 weight on the cub you are using 1/2 bolts, which probably are ok, but the engineers at IH were more comfortable with 5/8. Seems like FARMALL downsized rims on almost all rear tires. My Super H had Firestone 11-38 6 ply from the plant, on 10x38 Good Year made by Motor Wheel rims. The '51 M had 12-38's later 13.6's on 11"x38" rims. All the tire books I have list a recommended rim size and an alternate that typically is one inch narrower. NEVER is a wider rim allowed.
