I have an 83 F250 (d50 TTB) Dead OE front springs no Body lift and 1/2 wore out 38.5x11 boggers on it that measure 36ish. They hit the leaf springs near full lock and very seldom hit the body. I think with an inch of body lift, and some deeper dish rims that 36/37s would fit fine.

I had a 3" rough country lift with 37's on 20" factory wheels. The tires did not hit the wheel wells but they did rub the frame pretty bad at full turn. The tires were 37x12.50 nitto trail grappler. Functionally, more tire and less rim is better in terms of performance. Its not like a 20 is a small rim! Especially for the cost.
