Most of the time, I will use the Remington SP20 and occasionally the RXP 20. A few loads from Lyman's 4th edition for the Winchester compression formed hull (old-style AA): 1 ounce shot 25.5 grs. HS-7 SP20 wad Win 209 primer 1215 fps @ 10,200 LUP 1 ounce shot 17.0 grs. WSF SP20 wad Remington 209P primer (same as current STS) 1198 fps @ 11,100 ...crowcrusher. My 20 ga Longshot loads (7/8 oz) are about 10,000 to 10,500 psi, 1,250 fps, and they hammer late-season doves, with temps around freezing or below. Yep, you get some unburnt residue in the barrel, but I'm not using max loads, and I figure that it all blows out with the next shot anyhow.

The F1 wads are out-of-print, so I haven't used them. In 7/8 loads Rem wads with Win case and vice versa works the best. Like.Posted August 6, 2009. Those are loads that are supposedly safe with any hull/wad combination so long as you use the called for charge of powder with a non-magnum primer for the given shot weight. SP20 wads are tapered and will fit AA hulls just fine. Whether there is published data for the specific primers and powder you normally use can be determined on the appropriate powder company's website. sissy edited addition: There's a gaggle of recipes for one ounce 20 ga. loads using AA hulls and SP20 wads on the Hodgdon Powder site.
