The trigger assembly and the bolt both need a good soaking in solvent, then a light lubrication afterward. 2. The firing pin return spring could be broken (or dirty). If broken, it needs replaced. Or, the firing pin itself could be corroded at the tip and might need replaced although I doubt it. 3.

Fouling build up underneath can cause those 2 rings to expand and let the piston hang up causing short cycling (or no cycling at all) That is one of the areas to watch and keep clean on the 930. The 940 has a little bit of difference with the gas system, but Mossberg started using Or3gun parts on the 940 from the get go. Greater cleaning intervals aren’t all that separates the 940 from the 930. Additionally, the Mossberg 940 Pro buttstock can be adjusted for cast, drop, and length of pull. This is accomplished via included spacers and shims to alter drop and cast. The same goes for adjusting the modular buttpad for length of pull (LOP) from 13″ to 14.25″.
