For my builds online, as a matter of consistency, I feel I should stick with the tree descriptions. DDO being a game full of confusion, particularly for new players. Though simple testing (as you mention below) shows otherwise: you never know, this could get fixed in the near future to reflect the tree, rather than the buff bar.

In heroics abd early epics its totally possible to have workable dcs in ranged sets, as i have done it (i have a lot of past lives though).
